The controversial Thomas Saidu Hamidu, the NPP’s communications director for the Kwahu Afram Plains South constituency in the Eastern region is reported to have said that, the New Patriotic Party will make it difficult for the biggest opposition party in the country, NDC to run the Free SHS policy initiated by his government, should they able to return to power in future years.
According to the vibrant and energetic young politician, the NDC party being noted for their autocratic and ‘yentie obiaa’ system of governance, would not send a delegation to the sitting president Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo to explain to them how the most applauded policy in his government, Free Education, is managed and financed in the country.
He further stated that entourage from far away countries even travel to be hailed as far as Free Education is concerned. This to him, is an indication that the NDC will definitely mess up the policy and absolutely reverse it should they given a chance to govern again. He sighted a scenario that the Free maternal care collapsed under the watch of the NDC because they were not briefed as to how it was managed during ex President Kuffuor’s administration.
In an addition to his statement, the source of financing the program is yet not known to the NDC party since they have an ideology of keeping the oil money for the youth in so called future.
He made this known to public after a district tour by the DCE of the area, HON. George Ofori and the agric minister, Hon. Owusu Afriyie Akoto on Saturday. He therefore acknowledged their efforts to assemble all the cattle in the area into Folder Banks to enhance proper farming.
Finally he advised Ghanaians not to take the NDC party serious anymore because the one term premium they promised during 2008 campaign under the National Health Insurance Scheme program was unable to finance it,” a real incompetent indeed”, he said.
